Mount And Blade Horse Archery
I've always used bows but decided to try crossbows in my current playthrough. It's much slower to reload but that is getting better as my proficiency increases. It's nice to be able to shoot in any direction while on horseback instead of just off to the left hand 180 degrees. It's also nice to be able to skip putting skill points into power draw. I do wish there was a more powerful crossbow that could be used from horseback. And I miss being able to reload while running. As the size of my force grows, I tend to do less shooting and more watching and order giving and intermittently flailing around with a blunt weapon to increase the number of prisoners, and I haven't missed the bow as much as I expected. I haven't yet been in siege situation on either offense or defense so can't make any comparisons there.

Crossbows are great if you only intended to pop off a couple of shots. They have great accuracy with a steady reticule during aiming but horrid reload times.Bows are great if you intend to fire off your whole sheaf before engaging. They're also pretty accurate but fatigue from holding the string taught is modeled so you want to get your shot off as soon as it's drawn, requiring more skill from the player. Also, only hunting and light crossbows can be used when riding horses, whereas all types of bow can be fired while mounted. Im wondering if you can just keep a crossbow in your inventory and switch it out when you do get into siege?
Best vice city mods. Like in the middle of the battle i mean.Unless you're playing a mod that adds your baggage crate during sieges, no. In field battles, yes this is possible.would it be worth putting a bunch of points into power draw if im already specialized into crossbows? Im currently level 20.It depends really. If you really want to switch for bows, you could, but keep in mind without the proficiencies you're going to be horrible at it at first and for a while after even with the power draw. You won't be wasting any skill points. If you really wanted to you could export your character file, remove your crossbow proficiency points and put them into archery manually to make it as if you'd been using a bow all along.
