What are Otome Games?' Otome' means maiden in Japanese.

So basically, Otome games are visual novels that mainly targets the female audience (otome gēmu means Maiden Game). It's pretty much a graphic novel in digital form.They invite the reader to enjoy a story that usually consist of a series of choices throughout the game. The choices you make change the direction in which the game is going while you are romancing handsome men.Here we discuss our favorites and least favorites, suggest other games for our fellow maidens and even help each other out when we get stuck on a certain route. Well what do you mean a good game? I'd suggest looking at some of the reviews for it. I'd scroll down to read their overall thoughts first to see if it's your type of story. As far as I hear though, it does seem to have some plot holes / problems - and mainly you should play it if you like the characters.But overall, I think it depends on what kind of character and story you like. While I enjoy a good romance with a yandere/crazy character in otome games, I'm not a huge fan of going for overly sadistic characters (and ONLY sadistic characters) so this isn't my type of story and I don't particularly think of it as a good game in that sense. Although I do enjoy the artist's work and am a fan of several of the voice actors in it.Then again, just my opinion.

You may end up loving it as it is fairly popular in Japan and there are plenty of games in the series.edit for formatting error. I think that was my problem when I watched the anime. The guys were all on an aggressive/sadistic level, even the 'nice' ones.I guess that's what should be expected from a story about dysfunctional vampires, but I personally figure if I didn't enjoy the characters from the taste the anime gave me, I probably wouldn't enjoy spending even more time with them in a game. The taste the Amnesia anime gave me was enough to say I wanted to get to know the guys better, even if I really thought the anime sucked. It's a fun ride if you like the series itself (getting in through the voice actors/drama CDs and becoming attached to the characters that way, for instance, makes it a lot easier/fun/tolerable), but the gameplay itself. Could be better, could be worse?Certain routes are locked at the get-go, so you might not even get to pick your favorite guy for your first playthrough. Its mature content is average at best, if that's a factor.

On the other hand, it has an interesting S/M mechanic that changes the player's attitude based on choices and it gives you some concrete story content that the CDs don't.If you can get a copy cheap, or if the reviews make it seem compelling, there's no reason not to give it a shot. But imo, they really should have quit while they were ahead. Too many vampires with the same gimmick kinda spoil the bloodbath, you know?.
